No photograph of a sapphire is neutral. White balance, exposure and the light used all move the colour, and the stone's own behaviour under different light means two honest photographs of the same sapphire can look like two different stones.
That is the practical reason we work inquiry-first rather than putting a checkout button under an image. A sapphire is a single object with a specific character, not a unit of stock, and the decision is better made with the stone in front of you or on a live call where we can turn it under different sources.
A private viewing is not a sales ritual. It is the only reliable way to see how a stone shifts, how the cut handles light across the whole face, and whether the colour is even or concentrated. The laboratory report answers what the stone is. Seeing it answers whether it is the one.
Where distance makes that impractical, video is a reasonable substitute if it is done live and unedited, with the stone moved under more than one light. What it should never be is a single still image and a price.
